NON-SURGICAL REJUVENATION

V-SHOT (O-SHOT) FOR WOMEN, P-SHOT FOR MEN

These are genital injections that involve the use of one's own growth factors processed from blood that is drawn during the procedure. This blood component contains stem cells and growth factors and when injected into the hair, skin, or genital areas, promotes the natural production of collagen and elastin to provide rejuvenation.

WHAT ARE GROWTH FACTORS?

Blood is composed of four primary elements - red and white blood cells, plasma, and platelets. The platelets consist of a variety of growth factors that promote healing. Blood is processed producing a high concentration of platelets (at least five times more potent than typically found in human blood) and is utilised to promote healing of tissues.

The procedure dates to the 1970s in sports medicine for its effectiveness in wound healing. It is essentially a safe treatment as it utilised the individuals own natural products without the addition of any foreign agents.

Good candidates for this procedure are otherwise healthy men desiring a firmer or stronger erection. It is important to realise that the P-shot does not actually enlarge the penis. The P-Shot has been used as an alternative treatment in cases including:

  3. Lichen sclerosus

  4. Peyronie’s disease

PROCEDURE

The V-shot or P-shot is an outpatient procedure, so you can go in, have it performed, and be out later the same day. One may prefer to take a day off work or other responsibilities to allow ample time to get it done, but this is not usually necessary. After a consultation, Dr Sofianos and his team will prepare the growth factors by first drawing a small amount of blood using a fine needle. These blood vials are placed in a centrifuge to spin them and therefore concentrating the growth factors. Once activated, it can be used for injection into the specific genital areas. Topical anaesthesia (anaesthetic cream) is used to numb the areas for injection.

The V-shot is injected into the numbed area near the clitoris and upper vagina.

The P-shot is injected into the numbed area along the penile shaft and the glans (tip) of the penis.

RECOVERY

Most patients experience no side effects or downtime. Individuals may return to work and normal activities the same day. Avoid having sexual intercourse for a few days after the shot to avoid infection or discomfort. Intense physical activity should also be limited for a couple days, to avoid irritation of the area.

RESULTS

Results vary widely based on overall general and sexual health as well as other factors that may contribute to sexual function. Certain individuals experience results immediately after one treatment. Others require several months or multiple treatments.
